Subject: How do I honor God and my parents? |
Bible Note: Ok. First of all, thank you for the response. I am non-denominational and my parents are Catholic. I don't beleive in reverencing Mary and a lot of other "religious" things that they practice and that I used to practice. I know that I need to sit down and talk to them, but my father is very adamant about Catholicism being the only "religion". They do not yet understand that I am seeking a relationship with God and not a religion. They think that I'm in a cult because of how I refuse to back down off of my beliefs. I realize that to adequately answer the question, you'd need a lot more background than I can give you in 2,000 words or less. I don't really know what else to tell you. Basically, my parents are trying to tell me what church I can and cannot attend, and I don't think that at this age, they should be able to do that. I need to know whether disagreeing with them in that respect and still doing my own thing is dishonarable. I am not bashing the Catholic church, but I do not agree with the doctrine of the church. Thank you. |
