Bible Question: Why is the Sabbath now Sunday? |
Bible Answer: Hello, In the 4th century AD Constantine who was a Roman emperor saw a sign in heaven which was a cross, and a voice told him in this name conquer, so he baptised all his troups and instantly they were all Christians, but at that time the Romans seemed to be the only people who worshipped on SUNday, well, them and the heathens. They worshipped the venerable day of the sun, in fact that is where the name SUNday came from, right from sun worship, even all of our weekday names come from heathen sun worship practices. Most languages of the world call Saturnday sabbath. For instance In Mexico it is called sabado, in Swahili it is as-sabt, but in Tibet it is called the seventh planet, Saturn, and the other weekdays in order are sun, moon, mars, mercury, jupiter, venus. Out of 160 languages, 108 of them call Saturday the Sabbath. God Bless you Jeff W |
