Bible Question: i am currently pregnant with my first child and someone said that this verse came to them while i was being prayed for. i don't really know what it means. does anyone understand this verse.Help. |
Bible Answer: Greetings BuzyWuzy! This was taken from the Nelson NKJV Study Bible.. "(Exodus) 13:13 A firstborn male donkey was redeemed with a lamb; a donkey was not allowed as a sacrifice to the Lord. Similarly, the Israelites were to redeem their firstborn sons; they were never to slay them in human sacrifice. In this way the people were dramatically reminded of the extent to which the Lord had gone to free them from slavery. He had spared their first-born even as He slew the firstborn of Egypt, human and animal, to buy their freedom. Later the Lord claimed the Levites for Himself in exchange for the firstborn sons of the people (see Num. 3:40-51)." I pray that you and your husband will have a very successful pregnancy and a healthy baby! Also, I pray that you will both do your best to raise your baby with the help of a loving church family and help lead him or her to the Lord. Praise the Lord for newborns! Nolan |
