NASB | Psalm 84:10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Psalm 84:10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather stand [as a doorkeeper] at the threshold of the house of my God Than to live [at ease] in the tents of wickedness. |
Bible Question (short): doorkeepers responsibilities |
Question (full): I want a fuller understanding of 2nd Chronicles 23:19. Not long ago in a church the Pastor said that the door keeper had to check to see if men were circumcised or not. He did not reference this scripture. He just said that was a responsibility if a doorkeeper. The scripture that he was using was where David said that "he'd rather be a doorkeeper" in Psalms. I'm not saying that the Pastor was wrong or right. However I don't agree that that was a task. What's you take. |
