Bible Question (short): Who are Moab, Edom and Philistia? |
Question (full): Who are the characters in this Psalm? Is there a present day Moab, Edom and Philisia? From my recollection (dangerous, I admit) Moab was the decendants of Lot resulting from from an incestuous realtionship. Edom was the descendants of Esau, the twin who sold his birthright. And Philistia, help me here, does this represent all the "heathen" nations that Israel conquered? (or rather should have) - Perhaps we wouldn't have the Palestinian conflict today if they had been obedient to God when they went in to take the land He had given them in the first place!? |
