Bible Note: Judah is the scepteror the seat of government. (Gen. 49:10) Ephriam is to be the helment the protector of the realm. Israel's enemies will be defeated. Moab with its sea is the basin or washing pot and Edom is where the shoes will fall when the feet are washed. The casting or throwing of the shoe over Edom is a symbolic act to proclaim possession or dominion over it. Similar to the old song, "These boots are made for walking." |
