Bible Question:
It's shocking to read that God does not wish worshipers to bring any sacrifices. Leviticus gives extensive instructions on sacrifice What could the psalmist have had in mind except what appears to be a flat-out contradiction? Didn't God issued a command that sacrifices were to be brought to his house? Steve |
Bible Answer: Good news/bad news( depending on where you are with Him) Steve. The good news is that God does still require sacrifices and gives extensive instructions on what, how, when, and where they are to be presented. Bad(?) news.. Rom.12:1, you're it! The instructions start with the Gospels and continue on through the epistles. Our daily lives are to be the sacrifice. Jesus said that unless we carry our cross( an instrument of sacrifce) daily, we cannot be His disciples. Perhaps it was this personal sacrifice that caused many of the jews to stumble, for it is much easier to give material possessions than to give ones life.As the enemy said to God about Job," all that a man has he will give for his life" It is this life that God requires as our sacrifice. |
