Bible Question:
It's shocking to read that God does not wish worshipers to bring any sacrifices. Leviticus gives extensive instructions on sacrifice What could the psalmist have had in mind except what appears to be a flat-out contradiction? Didn't God issued a command that sacrifices were to be brought to his house? Steve |
Bible Answer: Steve, God wants a contrite heart and a broken spirit. You can never please God by outward actions - no matter how good - if your inheart attitude is not right. I believe that God was saying that he doesn't want sacrifices if your heart is not in the right place. Just as Jesus taught us that actions do not get you into heaven if your heart is not right with Him. |
