Subject: Will every man hear the gospel? |
Bible Note: Mein geehrte Bekannter in Christus , danke fürs Rückfragen. Water Baptism is an outward sign of obedience to God who saves us by, the grace of God alone, by our faith in Him alone, by the completed work of Christ on the cross for the redemption of our sins alone, and to the glory of God, alone. Many use 1 Peter 3:21 as a “ text proof,” because it says that "baptism now saves you." But Peter was not really saying that getting water baptized is what saves us. In order for Peter to be saying that he would have to be saying other parts of the Bible are not true. Look at Cornelius and his whole family were saved before they were baptized in Acts 10. And it was the evidence of the Holy Spirit that made it evident that they should be Baptized. And look at the thief on the Cross, Luke 23:39-43 he was never Water Baptized at all. So you see Water Baptism is, an act of obedience, but not unto salvation. God desires a humble penitent heart, who knows in his heart, that he can do nothing for God, but that only God can save him from his sins. Not by works and water baptism is a work. So we cannot boast in ourselves, and God gets ALL the glory! Amen? As far as how God will judge some fellow in the jungle, I don't really know. What I'm saying is, I think He will judge the man who has heard the word more harshly. And I know this is just speculation but if a man who has never heard the word somehow by God's grace is given the knowledge that he is a sinner and calls out to the all mighty God, even if he doesn't know His name, Moses didn't know His name. Well...... I don't know, no-one can know a mans heart, only God. I believe that Romans 2:14 is saying that these are using their reasoning to justify themselves. Not that they have the law of God on their heart, but their own law. I hope this has helped you my friend. God bless John p.s. you ask hard questions! smile............ |
