Subject: A question of obedience |
Bible Note: Greetings Markarios! I appreciate your answer and I am inclinded to agree, however as we read further in the account, didn't Esther and the other girls parade themselves before the king too? I note that Esther was described as beautiful in FORM and FACE (2:7) so it seems that she too was judged upon her outward appearance and accepted by the king. It appears that God used the male appetite to control the situation in BOTH circumstances! YET! I don't doubt for a moment that God would have brought forth a savior for His people if Vashti had obeyed the king. Perhaps, someone else, perhaps not Esther, would not have been on the scene for "such a time as this." To me, this story is very comforting, for if someone's eternal salvation was dependent upon MY obedience rather than God's Omnipotent Grace - I shudder to even think about this! Thanks for the dialog! Blessings to you and yours - Mommapbs |
