Bible Question: Was Queen Vashti justified in her refusal to obey the king's command? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Mommapbs, Yes, I believe that Queen Vashti was justified in her refusal to obey the King. Would Queen Vashti be mentioned at all by the author if she had given in? Would Esther then of had a chance to be in the place of influence that she would soon find herself in? No, I believe that Queen Vashti was in the right for not dancing in front of the King and his cohorts, and for not revealing any part of her body that would have given rise to sin. Women are so shamelessly put on display! You never hear of a woman with character be noticed or given as much attention as those who are physically well 'endowed.' Praise the Lord for Vashti's sudden courage, even willing to pay the ultimate price for her chastity and honor! No woman should ever be forced to be put on display for any reason, much less entertainment. Such sin sears the heart, and love is totally absent from the mind. Blessings to you, Makarios |
