Subject: What are the implications of Christ resu |
Bible Note: While some Christian witnesses are perhaps more creative and innovative than others, the command that Jesus laid down to His disciples still stands as the basic model for speading His gospel: "If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whoever will not receive you or hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet." The herald's responsibility is exactly what Paul instructed Timothy to do: Preach the word. (see 2 Timothy 4:2). Jesus taught us in the parable of the sower that that the word of God will bear fruit sometimes and sometimes it won't. (See Luke 8:4-15). But that doesn't excuse Christians from being evangelists. They still are commanded to go and teach all nations (Matthew 28:19). Christians plant and water. The harvest is up to God. (1 Cor. 3:6) --Hank |
