Bible Question: Is the millenennium literal or figurative? |
Bible Answer: Hello Italian_Honey, and welcome to the forum. Your question, “Is the millennium literal or figurative?” I am going to tell you that it is just as real as a heart attack. Do you understand what I mean? I’m sure you know about heart attacks. I just used what is known as a figure of speech to convey a point to you. There are many such figures of speech that are used in the book of Revelation. I didn’t say it was a heart attack, because I used the word “AS” to show the comparison. This sets up what is called a SIMILE. There are many figures of speech like this through out Revelation some are easer to spot then others. There are metaphors and some real hard ones to spot called idioms. It is the use of these figures of speech that make it tough to understand sometimes but yes it in fact going to be a real situation and my hope is that people will have taken the proper steps to be ready when it all comes to pass. The best thing that we can do is to put our undivided trust in God’s plan. That plan involves His precious Son Jesus Christ. God promises those that completely trust in his Son the gift of eternal life. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. There will be a real tribulation and a real millennium that will follow after God's wrath. Have a nice day, CDBJ |
