Bible Question:
My question concerns the authorship of Revelation. I have begun studying this book in ernest since reading the Left Behind series. As a Roman Catholic I have found the Church's teaching to be very different from that of many other denominations, particularly whether John the Evangelist and John the Revelator are one in the same. In trying to find an answer to this I have found that even the early Church fathers did not agree on this. Is there any definitve evidence one way or the other on this subject? Mike. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Grandpamike! I agree with Searcher, who wrote an excellent post. John the Revelator is the same person as the Apostle John, the disciple whom Jesus loved, and is one of the sons of Zebedee. John wrote the Gospel of John, the three epistles of John and the book of Revelation. Blessings to you, Nolan |
