Bible Note: Listener, As for the "soon", I think I did not address that as I had intended. History confirms that these events in Revelation did take place soon after the writing of the prophecy, if this is the "soon" you are talking about. The great persecution of the Christians was at hand when the book was written. Symbolic language was not being used when the first paragraph of Revelation 1 was written and the descriptions and symbolic language cease at about Rev 22:5 and then the angel tells John that all these sayings are trustworthy and true. In II Peter 3, where Peter tells that with the Lord a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day, he goes on to say that the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Everything here will be destroyed. We will be escorted to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. This does not sound like a millenial reign on this earth. As well as the other scriptures that say that we will be caught up into the air to meet Jesus. Where is the scripture that says that Christ will set up an earthly kingdom? I haven't seen it. Listener, thank you for your comments. These are just some things on my heart that do not mesh with all the other things that I hear and read regarding the rapture and the millineum. May God bless us as we study His Word. Bobbie Faye |
