Bible Question (short): Sin unto death |
Question (full): Shalom y'all again, This question is probably a really dumb question, and the answer is most likely right under my nose and I'm missing it, but here goes: Scripture first: 1Jn 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1Jn 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 1Jn 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. WHAT is the sin unto death? I know that one obviously is not accepting Messiah as Lord and Savior but that can't be what John's talking about because we're told in no uncertain terms to pray for unbelievers. From the wording, it appears that it is not a secret sin, something only done behind closed doors, it's something one could see the brother doing out in the open. What is it?? Thanks (feeling kinda silly I don't know this) :-) Cheri |
