Bible Note: What is surprising? (Grace surprises sinners) If we aren't surprised, perhaps complacency has set in. We fail to assume grace. What is uncomfortable? (The Word is a mirror) If we aren't uncomfortable, then our viewpoint is probably wrong. What does this mean? (The Word is truth) We must begin from a starting point of humility. What is meant in the context of all Scripture. Scripture is rational, it never means one thing one day and another thing another day. The OT is to be used to guide our understanding of the NT... The NT is to be used to enlighten, and in subordination, to the study of the OT.. What is the particular significance of each separate passage? Consider figures of speech, metaphors, and proverbs Be caught up with God's glory! |
