Bible Question: In the New Testament what proof can be provided that to the Hebrews Jesus’ Christ is the Messiah ? |
Bible Answer: Ecce crucem dominae, fugite partes adversae. Vincit leo te tribu Judah radix David. The messiah, regardless of whether or not he was Jesus, will be Jewish. OT prophecy confirms this time and again, indeed Judaism is built around the concept of a deliverer from spiritual/political dissolution. The idea originated from Kabbalist interpretation of the Torah as far as five thousand years ago. The historical Jesus was Jewish; those who claim him to be the messiah have combined OT prophecy with historical reality of Yeshua's hebraic lineage. As Roman Catholics, there is no denial of our stance that although Christ was the Light of the Gentiles according to St. Paul, he was most assuredly the King of the Jews, according to the sign posted above the cross. |
