Subject: Should women be allowed to preach? |
Bible Note: One comment I have on this response. Can you help me understand where people get the idea that Preaching the Word of God is ONLY done by "PASTORS,DEACONS,ELDERS"? I agree that a woman should not usurp authority over a man. I think the confusion comes when we think that one must hold the office of "PASTORS,DEACONS,ELDERS" to preach the Word. My post was not that a woman should be a "PASTORS,DEACONS,ELDERS" but that a woman can preach the Word. Also we know from Acts 15 a woman can prophesy. I appreciate your desire to not add to the word, therefore we must not add to the word to say that these women did anything wrong. Therefore if a woman can prophesy then we must decide what the definition of prophesy is. And if it is the gift of prophetic utterance as a spiritual gift in the church it is speaking in the church, if it is pulpit preaching as so many believe that do not hold to charismatic views, then we must conclude that women can preach in the pulpit. Either way whether it is pulpit preaching or if it is prophesy as a spiritual gift during the service neither one requires that the woman be a Pastor. God Bless you as you study the word with all honesty and humility before the God. |
