Bible Answer: God will reward everyone, though not everyone will receive the same reward. We are rewarded according to our works, I Corinthians 3:8, "Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.". There are no scriptures mentioned in your question, so I will go with what I think you are asking. Upon our death, our spirit instantly returns to our Father who gave it, Ecc. 12:7, "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.". James 2:26 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." Faith will get us in the door, but it is our works that will get us our reward after we are there. We can take nothing with us but our works, Revelation 14:13, "And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." Revelation 22:12, "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.". Faith in our Father brings about the forgiveness of our sins upon repentance, but we are still at square one as far as receiving a reward. There is an untruth to the old addage, "All you have to do is believe". Belief, faith, is sufficient to get us there, but faith does not reap the rewards and we will walk into Heaven poor, for we are judged by our works; when we show our works, God sees our faith: James 2:18, "Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.". It's impossible to have faith and not have works, for when we have faith, we have works. One that has faith cannot help but talk about God to others whether in study, or encouragement, or edifying one another. These are the works that come from our faith, which we take with us when we stand before Him to receive our rewards. |
