Bible Question: When you have the gift of speaking in tongues and filled with the Holy Spirit. what does all that mean? |
Bible Answer: In my honest opinion? Not much. To me, it only means that you have been blessed with the gift of tongues. First, let's identify what is meant by "Tongues". Are we speaking about the ability to communicate with others of different languages coherently or speaking some undeterminable gopplygook that no one understands? If the former, then by all means use your gift to spread the word of God to people of all nations and languages. If the latter, then be cautious. You don't need to speak in an unknown tongue just to prove to others that the Holy Spirit is with you. The Bible never supports that. It does say that through the Holy Spirit, one can perform amazing tasks. We call them: The Gifts of the Spirit. Each person has been blessed with a unique gift. Each person has a different task to perfom. If every one had the same gift, then there would be only one duty to perform. Paul, however, teaches differently. My advise to you is to pray hard, examine the Bible thuroughly, and use your gift for the blessing of the Church. Jesus Loves You! Jesusman |
