Bible Question: Please explain Paul's letter in Romans 1-3. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Florence! The first 3 chapters of Romans servce one basic purpose - to support Rom. 3:23. Romans 3:23 says, " for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 1 shows us that all pagans are sinners and without excuse before God. Romans 2 shows us that all Jews are sinners and without excuse before God. Romans 3 shows us that all men are sinners and without excuse before God. The good news is Rom. 1:16 - "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile." This is the point that Romans 4-11 goes on to prove - that salvation is available to all through faith! I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
