Bible Question:
Hello! I remember reading in the Bible (Old Testament) a text very similar to the poem "Desiderata" (for the ones who don't know it, the poem starts like this: "Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence..."). Here is a link to the poem: http://www.poetseers.org/the_great_poets/misc/desid In Bible, the words were a bit different, but the meaning was the same. However, I can't fint the text in Bible that contained the ideas of this poem (it's harder than finding a needle in a haystack)... Could someone help me or at least say a text in the Bible that is similar to Desiderata? |
Bible Answer: No. From Wikipedia..."Desiderata" (Latin for "desired things", plural of desideratum) is an inspirational prose poem about attaining happiness in life. It begins: Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. Max Ehrmann first copyrighted it in 1927, but it was widely circulated in the 1960s without attribution to him. This copyright was renewed in 1954 by Bertha Ehrmann. |
