Bible Question:
What does the Bible says about what to do with murders here on Earth? |
Bible Answer: I assume you are refering to what kind of punishment should be done to those who commit murder. The answer is found in the above mentioned scriptures. The conflict for christians is that we all stand in need of mercy and so we feel conflicted over punishing a crime, especially if the possible punishment is the death penalty. The Bible teaches that God has given each government the authority to punish criminals. Interestingly enough this instruction comes from Paul who was beheaded by the Romans rulers and from Peter who was crucified upside down again by those rulers. The abuses of authority does not change what the scripture teaches: Governments have the authority to determine and carry out punishment.Rom13:4 and 1Peter2:14 |
