Bible Question (short): In Old Testiment sin? |
Question (full): I have recently been asked to sing a song at the inevitable funeral of a homosexual man who claims to be a christian but has not and will not denounce his sexual orientaion. He has cancer and dieing. The song that I was asked to sing was With Hope by Steven Curtis Chapman. It states " We can cry with hope that we will see his face again" meaning in heaven. Now my question isn't about whether his life style will keep him from heaven. It clearly states the answer to that in the bible. Homosexuality is a sin.And unless repented from that sin by no means can the gift of salvation be grant. My question comes from a conversation with a pastor, not my own,on my decision to decline singing the song. He stating that times have changed and sins of old are as relevant any more which I don't agree with. There was more which is irrelavent to my question. His examples are these old sins are, It used to be a sin to sing in church, it used to be a sin for a women who was menstrating to go out in public, it used to be a sin to wear certain kind of fabric together, as well as a few more which I have forgotten. Can you state any truth from the bible on these statements? |
