Bible Question:
Our Cell group is going to be starting a study on Prayer using a study guide. It was asked "Why do we need to do a study on Prayer?" I would like to hear your answer to that question please. |
Bible Answer: Luke 11:1 says, "Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples." Cayne9, greetings, It is the only time the Bible records the disciples asking the Lord to teach them something. Many think it is because they saw the impact of preyer on His life and its importance (priority). Also, they mentioned John, so I think we need not to forget him. Start with this passage and the similar passage in Matthew 6. Notice the pattern ... see the number of time "our" and "us" occur ... notice the focus is on Him ... see our position ... etc. Also, read about the times our Lord prayed ... as well as others.
