Subject: Ques. for Grace andTruth |
Bible Note: Greetings Treadway! You asked, "How can this be?" The answer is pretty simple: When people ignore Scriptures or misinterpret them, confusion and false doctrine results. Our recent discussions about Acts 2:38. Many have ignored the grammar of this verse and as a result have come up with a false doctrine (i.e. that we must be baptized to be saved). Further, many have ignored the clear teachings of Scripture which demonstrate that this doctrine is false. Hence, we have different denominations with different beliefs. However, having said that, I still believe that the vast majority of protestant denominations are closer in their beliefs than most realize. There may be minor differences of emphasis, but the core beliefs are the same (in most). Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
