Subject: Holy Spirit operatin our churches today? |
Bible Note: Ex32, Greetings and merry Christmas to ya! You have received a number of very solid scriptural responses to your query. No one has said that the Holy Spirit has ceased to operate in the church. One of the things pointed out is the fact that back then they didn't have the whole bible as we have it today. So back then the manifestations of the Spirit served to confirm and encourage those that witnessed what was happening was from God. In principle God's spirit still operates in the church today. Before I make my next point I want you to seriously consider Colossians 1:27. It tells us that it's Christ in you. All those who can truly call Christ Lord and Savior will have Gods Spirit working or operating, take your pick, everyday. We may not see things exactly the way they did back in the first century church but His Spirit works all the same today. Understand that we have today what they didn't have back in the first century church. We still see the Holy Spirit working and moving today don't we, of course we do. We may not see it exactly the same way today and yet we see God's Spirit evidenced in lives everyday. Do you see people healed, have you seen people saved, are you seeing changed lives? I would say yes to all. Look at Hebrews 12:1 God has given us all the evidence we need. I would also encourage you to read 2 Peter 1:1-11 it's vital that we cultivate and nurture that which God has given us. And lastly, it's always a good practice to approach things from a 2 Timothy 2:15 perspective. In Him, lionheart |
