Subject: Why not the Sabbath? |
Bible Note: Dear Mrs. Dean, Ours is a study of the text of Scripture. The venue of our communication is also text. I read a recent study that in about three quarters of the cases on the Internet, that people incorrectly interpreted emotional content of text based messages (email, forum posts, etc.). That should be a caution to us all -- we've less than a twenty-five percent chance of accurately interpreting emotion in one another's posts. I've participated for a while now on this forum. I believe that the majority of people who answer questions are doing so because they love the Lord, His Word, His sheep, and the truth. I'd also say that they have a high degree of compassion for the lost. Nevertheless, a study Bible forum is about study of the Bible. What we want to do is give affirmation to people in the discipline of sound Biblical interpretation. Warm fuzzies have their place, I suppose... and some folks will be more demonstrative and effusive in their language than others. Nevertheless, you might want to start with the presumption that if someone answers a question or posts a reply, it is being done out of love. In Him, Doc PS Sorry for previously misnaming you. My eyes aren't perfectly serviceable. |
