Subject: What does "3" stand for in the Bible? |
Bible Note: Well, angel-1, in a certain sense I'll have to agree with your statement that "Jews do have a different understanding of 'numbers' than we do," inasmuch as Numbers, being the fourth book of the Torah, was familiar to the Jews long before we Gentiles appeared on the stage. But, seriously, the numbers game played with the Bible is about as dangerous to our spirit as Russian roulette to our body. The safe and sane path to follow is to attach significance to numbers in the Bible only when the Bible attaches significance to them....... It strokes my ego to be called a poet, angel-1, and I thank you; yet I fear that the poetic quartet of Milton, Keats, Tennyson and Frost would, if they could, be happy to join Elvis in a chorus of "You Ain't Nothing but a Hound Dog" and dedicate it to me and my poetic incompetence. --Hankspeare |
