AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Kings 11:36 'Yet to his son I will give one tribe, so that My servant David may have a lamp always before Me in Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen to put My Name and Presence. |
Bible Question: What does this verse mean by saying "Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen for Myself to put My name."?? If the Lord has chosen Jerusalem to put His Name there, then does this make it obvious why the nations of the Middle East are fighting Israel for the "Promised Land", since satan wants his name there also, because the Lord has especially chosen Jerusalem? Beyond that, I can find no other reason for so much fighting over such a small piece of land that is no bigger than St. Joseph County (the County that I live in).. Any thoughts? |
Bible Answer: in the realm of god, a city had to be chosen for him to put his name, as it was with a people having to be chosen to bear his name, the israelites. david was the servant whom god chose to bring the ark to jerusalem, thus establishing the seat of god. now, if jesus, of a surety, has his name put there, and god of a surety has his name there, then the words "myself to put my name" are fulfilled. thus endeth the putting of the name. the current events in jerusalem and surrounds are a continuation of prophecy, more so revelation, and word which needs come to pass. satan, as always, has little to do with it apart from being a comforting bedfellow to those shouting at each other. |
