Subject: Law v Faith. Are Jews Condemened? |
Bible Note: Ray who do you think of when you say Spirit of God or Jesus? I believe this answer depends on you perspective of Pentecostalism. When I say Spirit of God or of Jesus or of the Holy Spirit I mean the Holy Spirit since I believe He is the essence of Father and Son. However I think evangelicals would more probably think of the actual spirit of God or Jesus. Perhaps it would be more to percise to say the actual essence of God or of Jesus. I think evangelicals tend to think of the Holy Spirit in more abstract terms than do Pentecostals and therefore do no associate Him directly with the term Spirit of God. I think Catholics tend to be even more abstract with their handling of the Holy Spirit almost to the point of exclusion in their thinking. Their focus is more on God His spirit or essence and Jesus and His spirit or essence. I say that not to put anyone down but rather to define what I perceive to the be the thinking within the three groups. EdB |
