Subject: Distance of Promise Land? |
Bible Note: The time depends on the speed of the travel. When traveling up the east side of the dead sea in preparation to attack Jericho, they traveled about 11 miles per day, a decent pace for children and herds. That would have been 19 days from Goshen to Hebron (abt 200 mi). Some think that they traveled 200 miles in 5 days to get to Ezion Geber for the crossing of the Red Sea. Of course, traveling so fast would have left them unfit for battle. |
