Subject: I want to start reading Genesis |
Bible Note: Dear Eden (Pam): It's good to know that you're deep into the study of the great book of Genesis, and refreshing to read your fine testimony. It has been said that if one has difficulty in believing Genesis 1:1, he will have trouble with the rest of Scripture as well. But if he truly believes the first verse of Scripture, that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, the 31,100 verses that remain will tend to fall in place. As you know from your reading, the book of Genesis has many themes of epic proportions -- the creation itself, the Fall, Noah's Flood, the Dispersion (Tower of Babel), to name only four. ....... It is interesting to note also that if Genesis could be sub-titled "Paradise Lost" then the last book of Scripture, the Revelation, could be sub-titled "Paradise Regained." ..... By the way, Genesis is cited in the New Testament no fewer than sixty times in some seventeen books. --Hank |
