Subject: Why does God love the world (us)? |
Bible Note: In preface, your answer is very helpful and probably correct. However your answer (with included scripture [thank you]) is that God's very nature, his make up, is why he loves us. That he is love and can do no other? Humm... This is interesting philosophically because it raises the question as to whether or not God has a CHOICE to love us (and thus the thrust of my question) or rather that he Chooses to love us and what the implications are or may be of a God that could choose not to love us. At this point, I concede, I am making distinctions for the sake of argument. You may very well have hit the nail on the head. It is neat and simple, makes since and is backed with scripture (and the Word is Truth). but my nagging conscience can't seem to let go. IF it is in his nature to love us, as you have rightfully said, Then does he have a choice? IF God can and does CHOSE to love us then why? |
