Bible Question: What evidence is there that god could have created a universe with age dating factors already in place? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Browneyedgurl18! The best evidence that there is an apparent age to the universe is Adam and Eve themselves. Notice that when they were created, they were fully mature adults. If someone were to dig up their skeletons, they would have appeared to life longer than they actually did, simply because we would assume that they grew up just like everyone else. This is the basic argument for apparent age in the universe. If God simply allowed the light of the stars to travel here on it's own, it would take millions of years before many of the stars were visible. So, just like with Adam and Eve, many feel that God created the universe in such a way that it already had light which was visible, river beds, canyons, ect... All of which, would give the appearance of a greater age based upon naturalistics assumptions. I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
