Subject: Where did Cains wife come from |
Bible Note: Greetings FreeThinker, Cain had clearly sinned by killing Abel since God spoke to Cain in verses 6-7, telling him that "sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it." Instead of gaining mastery over his anger and attempting to right himself with God by "doing well", he went out and killed his own brother. He disobeyed God and killed his brother which caused God to curse him. Therefore, Cain was in every way guilty and deserving of punishment for killing his own brother. Cain disobeyed the direct command of God, and this disobedience was made manifest in Abel's death. The Law of Moses was not necessary for Cain to be or recognize his disobedience, since he defied the direction that came straight from God. Blessings to you, Makarios |
