Bible Question:
iv just been reading a little and I dont fully understand the sin in the garden has anyonre took this information back to the orginal text. I dont know if its just me but im pretty sure its more to it than a apple which is not mentioned or a piece of fruit |
Bible Answer: Hello EL#, The "fruit" mentioned in Gen. 3:2 is not referred to as an apple. It is the word 'pariy' (Heb). It's generally translated "fruit" and conveys the idea of produce of the ground. If I'm following your question, the reason for their sin was that they disobeyed a direct command of God: "The LORD God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die." (Gen. 2:16-17 NASB) I hope this helps, BradK |
