Bible Note: Casiv I too agree you response was a good one. However you did say one thing that Satan had the power of death, and though he might, it was still subject to God’s control. I refer to Job 1:12 where God allows Satan to afflict all that was around and belonged to Job but not afflict Job himself. Then in Job 2:6 God tells Satan he may afflict Job but he must spare Job’s life. I think this clearly shows God retained and controlled the power of life and death. In fact the mood and voice of the whole dialogue between God and Satan in these first few chapters of Job shows God is very much in control and Satan is still very much subservient and answerable to God. So while it can be said Satan can take a life (only in accordance to God’s will) I think the power of death was still very much controlled by God. Your thoughts? EdB |
