Bible Question: Since God is omnipotent and omniscent, why did He allow sin to take over all mankind? Why didn't He make us sinless? He could have created us without the abilility to sin, so why didn't He? And why did He not prevent His angels from taking over(Satan and his angels who fell from grace)? These questions have been asked by my 23 yr. old daughter. She feels that God is just using us as playing pieces in a chess game. I told her that God gave man the will to choose for himself and he chose to sin. God's gift of redemption by giving us His only begotten Son shows His awesome love for us in spite of our freewill to choose to sin. Can you better help me answer her question re: this? |
Bible Answer: You gave the right answer. Free will. God gave us free will. We are not His robots. We have the power to choose for ourselves what our destinies will be. God is righteous and holy. He cannot look upon sin. Adam's decision brought sin and death upon the entire human race, but God made a way of escape through the Blood of Jesus. How can your daughter say we are as pieces in a chess game, when we have free will? Janae |
