AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 21:14 So Abraham got up early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and gave her the boy, and sent her away. And she left [but lost her way] and wandered [aimlessly] in the Wilderness of Beersheba. |
Bible Question (short): Was it wrong to send Hagar away? |
Question (full): Was it not wrong and heartless of Abraham kick out Hagar, whom he had taken as a wife? Was it not contrary to the social conventions? Was it not worse since the boy was so young that he had to be carried on the shoulders of Hagar as they left? Was Abraham justified in his actions? |
