Subject: The Tree of Life...? |
Bible Note: Yes, this is why I was confused by the statement "prolonged life". As I understood the scripture to mean literally "live for ever". Prolonged life as I understand it doesn't mean "for ever" so I was looking for clarification on what you understood it to mean. I looked at an outline of biblical usage for "for ever" and your choice of words "prolonged life" and wondered if you understood this scripture to mean something different then they way I was understanding it. That may sound silly to some but consider the outline of biblical use found on the blueletterbible.com web site for "for ever". 1) long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, world a) ancient time, long time (of past) b) (of future) 1) for ever, always 2) continuous existence, perpetual 3) everlasting, indefinite or unending future, eternity Can you see my confusion? :-) By Faith, Steve |
