Bible Question:
It bothers me that the children in Sodom were not considered righteous (Gen 18:27-30). Is there another catergory besides righteous and unrighteous? I hope so, but, I cannot find it in the Bible. Please help. Romans 1:18-20 came to mind. I don't think the children understand what God has revealed. |
Bible Answer: Innocence? In 1 Kings 14: 1-13 the story is told of Abijah the son of Jeroboam becoming sick and dying. The reason given by the Lord was because something GOOD was found in him toward the Lord. It would seem that the Lord took him to spare him the corrupting influences that would surround him as he grew up in Jeroboam's house. Death is not the worst that can happen to one if one dies in innocence and perhaps that is why God may have spared the children of such corrupt societies as the pre-flood earth, Sodom and Gomorrah, Caanan, etc. through death. |
