Bible Question: "In his (Peleg's) days the earth was divided." What was meant by the word "divided"? I mean, was the earth (globe) in a different shape before Peleg's time? How? Thank you.

Gen. 10:25. dividing of the earth. While this has traditionally been taken to refer to the division of the nations after the Tower of Babel incident (Genesis 11:1-9), other possibilities exist. It could, for instance, refer to a division of human communities into sedentary farmers and pastoral nomads; or, possibly a migration of peoples is documented here that drastically transformed the culture of the ancient Near East—perhaps one represented in a break-off group traveling southeast in Genesis 11:2.
