Bible Question:
Was the chronology of creation plants then animals then man (Gen. 1) or plants then man then animals (Gen. 2)? |
Bible Answer: In the chronological history in chapter 1 it is plants, animals, man. Plants were created for animals and man to eat - no pain, death, fear were in the earth at that time. Everything at that time was "good", but it was not until Adam was created that it was "very good". I also just read, or heard, that when Adam saw all the animals and realized that they were male and female (all had an opposite sex) that he realized that none of them would be an appropreate helpmate for him. I think it was Greg Laurie (www.harvest.org) that said Adam probably didn't think a hippo would be a suitable counterpart :) . Debbie |
