NASB | Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God (Elohim) created [by forming from nothing] the heavens and the earth. [Heb 11:3] |
Subject: Elohim instead of God |
Bible Note: Elohim is from the hebrew texts and it is singular in meaning (One God three Persons)but Plural in that contexts. In the context of Gen 1 is regarding Creation, the Word Elohim is used to state God in plural.Let us create..... etc...Whenever u find Elohim in a plural form it indicates God as a Triune God. Paul in the New Testament blesses the Church in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Man was created tripartite also(in the image of God) spirit, soul and body. Thank You for ur reply. God bless u as u seek HIM. |
