AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God (Elohim) created [by forming from nothing] the heavens and the earth. [Heb 11:3] |
Subject: Elohim instead of God |
Bible Note: Greetings Loveiskind3! You make a good point, but there are a couple of items which need clarification. 1) Elohim is Hebrew. 2) Elohim is plural in form, but singular in meaning. This doesn't necesarily point to the Trinity, but it could be an indicator. Apparently, some Hebrew words (especially those which occur in pairs, like hand) occur only in a plural form. 3) Elohim is used 2606 times in the Old Testament. So it does occur in more than just Gen 1. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
