Bible Question: In Matt 27 it says that Judas hanged himself. In Acts 1:18 he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out. How does this happen while hanging? |
Bible Answer: Acts 1:18 tell the rest of the story, the grizzly end of Judas. After hanging by a rope (or twisted cloth) for a few days in the hot sun the rope or cloth would break. The dead body would have begun to decompose thus weakening the walls of the abdoman. Upon falling, the body broke open, thus creating the picture described in Acts. |
