941 | Operate on faith or endure? | Heb 11:1 | CDBJ | 23922
Dear Shuggy, I would suggest for starters, Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. I would imagine that pastor Stanley was referring to 2 Cor. 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) Notice that it doesn't say we lie down, do nothing, and hope for the best by faith. If you have desirable job skills I would put my resumes every place that you are able and pray that the Lord will open doors for you. If you would like to be on your own, start out first with a job that you can depend on and work part time for yourself until the part time job can support you all the way. It is a lot of hard work but working two jobs is always hard. Build up your own business a little at a time with the Lord help and just be sure to give Him all the praise for everything He provides. There will be good days and bad days but 1 Thes. 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I hope this helps, CDBJ |

942 | no gospel equal go to hell? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 23813
The problem of ones sins is not the issue any longer since Jesus Christ paid for the sins of the entire world. 1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. The issue now is, what think yea of Christ. John 16:7-9 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9Of sin, because they believe not on me; It is interesting to note that the only sin that the world is being reproved of is that of rejecting Jesus, the Christ of God. That is because Jesus paid for all the rest of the Worlds sins when, he was rejected by God on the cross. The statement in 2 Pet. covers a lot of ground. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Repentance and faith in Jesus are two sides of the same coin. The Greek word for repentance is metanoia, It actually means that one must have a change of mind about the person of Jesus. If they don't, they will parish! CDBJ |

943 | Go back to grade school | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 21754
Dear JMR, it wasn't my intention to pit one denomination against the other. I didn't even mention either one in my post. Let me see if I am hearing you right. Are you telling me that because my wife was a practicing Catholic and I was a Protestant, that we were both automatically born again Christians? I can assure you that we were both very much of the two groups mentioned and neither one of us was a Christian, as the Bible describes a Christian. Do you mind if I ask you a question, what is a Christian by your definition and if you use the word believe in your answer, could you pamper me a little bit, by explaining the word believe? This righteousness that you mentioned, what do I have to do to get it? I didn't mean to send anyone off the edge by quoting Scripture; if I struck a nerve I am sorry! A lot of people practice the ritual of religion but they don't have the reality of a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. There are thousand of people in churches in this great country of ours that don't have a clue where they would go tomorrow if they would die. They hope that they would go to heaven but they are not sure. The Christians of the Bible were sure where they were going, and why they were going there. Sitting in a church every week doesn't make one a Christian anymore then sitting in a garage would make them an automobile! If what I am saying doesn't make sense to you, I pray that you will ask a lot of questions until it does and then you will know exactly what my point was in the post. In love, CDBJ
944 | Marriage to a Catholic? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 21732
Are both members that are getting married born again Christians? If one is and the other isn't, the Word of God commands that they not be yoked together. 2 Cor. 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? If both are unbelievers or both are believers, they can even be married by a justice of the peace if the so desire. |

945 | Wrong to Wear a Cross Necklace? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 21621
Well since I don't know tray or for what reason it is being worn it makes a big difference. I have run into all kinds and I say this with all due respect. If I say sure that would be nice and it would look nice on them. They might come back and say that the bigger the better for spirit protection. And if it is pure silver it can ward off almost anything. After you experience a few of these, one has a tendency to get the facts before sticking his neck and giving a quote from the Bible. With out elaborating and naming the group that puts a lot of faith in a peace of blessed hand made metal, do you get the picture? I know bunches from my past!! I hope this clears it up, CDBJ
946 | how do you encourage heartbroken | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 21618
The one who is to be encouraged, are they a believer in Jesus Christ? If the one that will receive this Biblical help isn't a believer, then anything that you could give them from the Bible, other then the gospel really wouldn't do them any good anyway, sad but true. Please inform and we will go from there. CDBJ
947 | Can a spirit inform you of something? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 21614
What do you mean (in spirit) and do you mean that they are predicting the future or what; are they quoting Scripture? You will have to be a little more specific on your question. If you mean gossip that is another story. Spell it out as best you can in order to get the best answer but be careful.

950 | Who are the Gog and Magog? | Rev 20:8 | CDBJ | 21371
(Gog and Magog) The prophetic name of the land from which Gog (Antichrist) will arise and establish the eighth and final beast empire of Satan, which will be composed of descendants of all of the previous beast empires except the first two; specifically the land where the Germanic descendants of Magog, Noah's grandson through Japheth, settled. (Ez. 38) (From the Sign Ministries) This is a very short answer for now but I hope it helps. CDBJ
951 | Can someone sin after salvation ? | 1 John | CDBJ | 21271
The question would be easer if you had ask, if there is anyone that hasn't sinned after salvation. God is so perfect and Holy and we are locked into these old sinful bodies that have a propensity toward sinning. It is almost an impossibility not to sin, but the great part is that we can keep short accounts with the Father by exercising I John 1:9 There are some that are deluded in there thinking about sinless perfection after salvation. The book of I John is a good one to cover that subject. I hope this helps, I know I need to use it all the time. It's a good thing that I have a perfect Savior in Jesus that God sees when He looks at me. CDBJ
952 | what his righteouness means? | Matthew | CDBJ | 19827
I am not sure from your last post if you were going to make a statement or ask a question. If you meant to ask a question of God's righteousness, this is what I can offer. The word, (RIGHTEOUSNESS) from the Old Testament Hebrew of the Bible was the word (TSEDAQAH) It reflected rightness, rectitude i.e. goodness, justice, virtue, morality, correctness, decency, integrity and morality. The word that was used in the New Testament koine Greek was the word (DIKAIOSUNE). Righteousness was formerly spelled rightwiseness as this expresses the meaning. It expresses God's faithfulness or truthfulness, which is consistent with His nature. God's Holiness is made up of His righteousness and His justice. I hope this helps, CDBJ |

954 | seek GODand his righteousness | Matthew | CDBJ | 19715
Hi Lillie, about the shortest answer that I can give you would be in Hebrews 11: 6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, (God) for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is the rewarded of those who diligently seek Him. (In His Word, the Bible) Tie this to John 14: 6 in ref. to Jesus being the only way. We can find the righteousness of God in his Son Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 1:30 and II Corinthians 5:21 speaking of Jesus, He (God the Father) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin, to be made sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. (Jesus) I hope this helps, CDBJ |

955 | Enter the Dragon! | Gen 3:1 | CDBJ | 19713
You don't accept Ezk. 28 as describing the fall of Satan yet you say that he was made in the six day period of creation. Where do you find that Satan by name was made during this period? (With all due respect, I don't accept your unpopular interpretation of when he was made.) Is it in your way of thinking that the king of Tyre was an anointed cherub? By the same train of typology, do you not think that Psalm 22 is in reference to Christ? It was always my understanding that Satan was Lucifer at one time, Isaiah 14: 12-16, or don't you accept this either? How could the sons of God shout for joy, at the creation of the Earth, if God created them the same time that He created the Earth, Job 38: 7. Please inform, as this is a strange view that I have never heard of before. CDBJ

957 | Eternal Fire | Deut 32:22 | CDBJ | 19249
Johnny, I think that the passage that you pointed out, Jude 1:7 is a lot clearer in the NASV. If you would think about it, the verse isn't talking about a city as a place but the constituents of that city, because a city can't commit fornication or go after strange flesh. I hope this helps, CDBJ
958 | Why do some pastors disobey Jesus? | Matt 19:9 | CDBJ | 19091
Are you inferring the Jesus actually commanded them to divorce for this reason? I think that what He was saying was that (if) a person where to pursue a divorce, and then marries another, the reason mentioned would be the only reason that would be acceptable with Him; other then this reason the person who remarries would be committing adultery. Jesus did not command them to divorce. CDBJ
959 | apologetics | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 19014
Dear PGS, it sounds like you have a burden for the lost. When I first became a believer, about 35 years ago, I would get on my knees before the Lord for people's salvation. I would do everything but hit them over the head with the Bible because I wanted them to find Jesus like I did. Boy I tell you, I knew that I found the answer to eternal life and I wanted everyone to have it. It was like talking to a brick wall. The burden was so heavy on me that I almost collapsed emotionally. Then it was pointed out to me in Matt. 16: 18 That people can't reveal Jesus to anyone, this is the work of the Father, He only puts believers into His family by revealing who Jesus is. Here I was trying to do God's work and all that I was able to do was to muddy up the water. The best advice that I can give is to study, study, study, God's word so that you may be able to answer everyone who ask you for a reason of the hope that is in you and do it with LOVE. Let Christ produce through you what He wants to do. Talk the talk and walk the walk; let Christ LOVE shine. Someone once said, (what you do, speaks so loud that I can't hear what you are saying.) We are ambassadors for Christ, people will watch you like a hawk, so stay close and try not to do anything that will give the devil a chance to neutralize you in your walk. I sure hope this helps; stay in His Word and try to love them into the kingdom, and He will lead. CDBJ |
