861 | Burying our dead | Gen 4:10 | azurelaw | 190847
Dear Brother Jeff, Before my departure in the next couple of hours, may I encourage you not to be disappointed (I sense a bit of it). When I made my reply, I was sure you must have a reason for the question. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I think it is a good thing that you alert us on the issue. Not many people possess a good alertness like you. This morning, when I was enjoying my moment with God, He gave me these verses: Heb 3:12-13 Take care, brethren, .... But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Keep going, dear brother. :-) Shalom Azure |

Dear Brother Paul, Thanks for your reply. I agree with brother BradK. My 2 cents of thought: When one climbs a tree, one should always grasp the main and strong branches to hold him/her safely instead of the small ones or even the leaves. Else, the person will fall to the ground. Shalom Azure |

867 | Should Christian men wear a beard? | 1 Chr 19:5 | azurelaw | 190778
Dear Bearded Bro, How would you interpret Gen 27:11? Jacob is chosen by God (although God chose him not by his smooth body, but His own will). Furthermore, many Asian men don't have beard. Shall they stick some onto their faces in order to obtain the masculine image (as you claimed) of God? Shalom Azure |

868 | Polygamy, Prostitution, etc. Bad things? | Bible general Archive 3 | azurelaw | 190758
Thanks for your reply, Abdiel. Maybe I am too dense. I still don't get your point. In answer your above question - Yes, I do. God's eyes are not only on evils but every man and everything. He watches without slumber nor sleep. Ps 66:7 He rules by His might forever; His eyes keep watch on the nations; Let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Ps 2:4 He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them. Shalom Azure |

Dear Neight1, I'm sorry. Did you confused the names? It should be Jacob not Isaac for Isaac is Abraham's son. Shalom Azure |

872 | On Prayer | Bible general Archive 3 | azurelaw | 190629
Dear Jeff, Thanks for sharing. The sweetest moment I found on earth is when God reveals himself through His Words to me and I am so much moved by the Holy Spirit that I cannot continue my reading of the bible without first falling on my knees to pray. Quite often that I cannot find any words for my prayer at that moment but just : thank you Lord, have mercy on me and be gracious to me. I realized that when we are alone with God, we are speechless. ------- Yes, it is possible to do that. On the "Questions/Notes on verse" box, you just need to type the verse (eg. Gen 1:1), then click "go". You can write a note with the space provided. Shalom Azure |

Dear Jeff and RC, Wow, I love to see this kind of loving and forgiving picture on the forum. John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." God bless you, brothers. Shalom Azure |

874 | Thanks for the answer | Acts 1:9 | azurelaw | 190567
Dear johnboy, It's sad for me to see your seeking under a wrong motive. Maybe you've found YOUR truth, but we definitely found "THE TRUTH". Mat 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Pray for your soul. Shalom Azure |

875 | Should Christian men wear a beard? | 1 Chr 19:5 | azurelaw | 190566
You are welcome, Bearded Bro. While some of my friends prefer to have their hair dyed in order to cover the white hair, I regard myself growing in wisdom with it. Just a comfort to myself :-) Enjoy the forum. Shalom Azure |

Dear Brother Steve, I couldn't agree with you more. May I steal the idea from Mr. C.S. Lewis "....questions which divide Christians from one another often involve points of high Theology or even of ecclesiastical history, which ought never to be treated except by real experts. I should have been out of my depth in such waters: more in need of help myself than able to help others. And secondly, I think we must admit that the discussion of these disputed points has no tendency at all to bring an outsider into the Christian fold. So long as we write and talk about them we are much more likely to deter him from entering any Christian communion than to draw him into our own." (preface of Mere Christianity) The things I concern most in the book of revelation are: 1/ God's sovereignty and glory. It is comforting to see that despite the severe persecution on earth towards the saints, the worships in heaven are so much grand and all believers are part-takers in it. 2/ The letter to the 7 churches provide us with warnings, promises, comforting and encouraging messages. I believe it is part of the reason why John started the book with "Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who reads aloud [in the assemblies] the word of this prophecy; and blessed (happy, to be envied) are those who hear [it read] and who keep themselves true to the things which are written in it [heeding them and laying them to heart], for the time [for them to be fulfilled] is near." (1:3) 3/ Jesus' coming to get us to his everlasting glory. There will never ever be anymore tears, temptations, evils; for Satan will be in the lake of fire and have no influence to us anymore forever. Perhaps it's a bit late, yet have a God blessed 4th July. Shalom Azure |

878 | can the holy spirit leave you? | OT general | azurelaw | 190455
Hello, Gene4Christ: Yes, it is pretty hard for me to follow your post with those typos. :-) My suggestion would be: if you have MSword, you may type your post on the word file and spell check it, then copy and paste to the forum. Hope it wouldn't be too much trouble for you. What do you think? Shalom Azure |

879 | Thanks for the answer | Acts 1:9 | azurelaw | 190387
Dear Brother Lionheart, Thanks for your kind words and your scriptural supplement to my note. Somehow, I wonder is it sensible for a person to argue on something that he does not think it exist. Shalom Azure |

880 | Thanks for the answer | Acts 1:9 | azurelaw | 190381
"When you come to knowing God, the initiative lies on His side. If He does not show Himself, nothing you can do will enable you to find Him. And, in fact, He shows much more of Himself to some people than to others - not because He has favourites, but because it is impossible for Him to show Himself to a man whose whole mind and character are in the wrong condition. Just as sunlight, thought it has no favourites, cannot be reflected in a dusty mirror as clearly as in a clean one." "You can put this another way by saying that while in other sciences the instruments you use are things external to yourself (things like microscopes and telescopes), the instrument throught which you see God is your whole self. And if a man's self is not kept clean and bright, his glimpse of God will be blurred..." - C.S. Lewis |
